What resources are available for patrons with disabilities?

At the library, we strive to provide resources and services to accommodate patrons with disabilities. Here are some of the available resources:

  • Alternative Formats: We offer a variety of materials in alternative formats, including audiobooks, large print books, and a small braille collection to assist individuals with visual impairments or reading difficulties.

  • Overdrive Libby App: Our library supports the Overdrive Libby app, which is available for Android and iOS devices. This app includes accessibility features such as enlarged text and compatibility with screen-readers. You can learn more about its accessibility features here.

  • Arizona State Library’s Talking Book Library Program: We participate in the Arizona State Library’s Talking Book Library Program, which offers additional resources in Braille and audio formats. This program provides access to a wide range of materials for eligible individuals with print disabilities. You can find a description of the service here.

If you are interested in accessing the Talking Book Library Program, you can apply by following the instructions provided in the How to Apply document. The application form can be found here.

  • Interlibrary Loan (ILL): If we don’t have specific resources available in the library or through the Arizona Talking Book Library program, we offer Interlibrary Loan services. Through ILL, patrons can borrow materials from other institutions that may have the desired resources.

We continuously strive to enhance our services and accommodate the diverse needs of our patrons with disabilities. If you require further assistance or have specific requests, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
