COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions

For the safety of our customers and staff, Mohave County Libraries are now open with modified services and allowing a limited number of customers in our buildings at one time.
Customers are asked to maintain at least six-feet of physical distance from each other and staff members.
Maximum occupancy varies by location. Signs containing occupancy information are posted near the entrances to the libraries.
Floor markings are placed in public areas to guide customers in maintaining safe distances.
We encourage customers to keep their visits as short as possible so that others may also use the facility.
Customers will not be able to browse for books and other library materials, but may pick up items they have on hold. For customers without holds, library staff will be able to retrieve items from the stacks for immediate checkout.
Computer usage will be by appointment only. Please call ahead to make an appointment. Customers will be allowed one 45-minute session per day. A limited number of computers will be available. Children’s computers will be unavailable. In order to maintain social distancing, staff will be able to provide only minimal computer help, and have been directed to do so from a distance.
Printing from public computers will be available for those who have computer appointments.
Certain areas in our buildings are not able to be accessed by the public at this time. The areas currently off limit to the public include, but are not limited to, community rooms, meeting/study rooms, reading areas, and any area housing the library collection.
Furniture and seating will not be available at this time.
Staff will not be handling returned materials. All items must be returned to book drops.
All returned materials will be quarantined for a minimum of 72 hours in accordance with safety guidelines. Items will show a check in date of the day it is returned, but this will not be reflected on customer accounts until the item clears the quarantine period.
Why did I get a notice that says "items will be due in a few days" or that my items are already overdue, when they were returned on time?
Because recently returned items are quarantined for 72 hours before staff handling, these items may still show on your account.
After the quarantine period, all check-in dates and late fees will be retroactively adjusted by 72 hours. Additional late fees do not accrue during the quarantine period.
All in-person programs and public events have been canceled until further notice.
Meeting rooms and future reservations for room use are not available at this time.
Copying, fax and scanning services may be limited in some locations.
Staff will be doing additional cleaning of frequently touched surfaces.
No donations of books or other materials will be accepted until further notice.
